Our journey to gentle healing
Discover the story behind Shadow Hills Equine Massage Co., where passion for horses and the power of gentle touch combine to promote wellness and recovery.

Inspired by Beau: Our founding story
Before pursuing formal certification, I taught myself equine bodywork out of a deep desire to help my rescue horse, Beau, live more comfortably. Through gentle touch and careful observation, I began to understand how horses respond when they feel safe and heard. Working in a way inspired by the Masterson Method, I learned that horses don’t need force or intensity—they need patience, softness, and someone willing to truly listen. That experience shaped the foundation of my work and showed me how powerful subtle, thoughtful bodywork can be in improving a horse’s quality of life.

The joy of connection and impact
What I enjoy most about equine massage is the deep connection it creates between myself and the horse. Horses communicate so clearly when you take the time to listen, and through gentle, thoughtful touch, you can feel them begin to release tension, soften, and trust. It’s incredibly rewarding to see a horse go from guarded or uncomfortable to relaxed and at ease, knowing you’ve helped improve not just their physical comfort, but their overall sense of well-being and connection.

Our unique approach: Listening with touch
What makes my approach different is that I create a quiet, calm space where the horse can truly be heard. I focus on listening—watching their subtle responses, allowing them time, and never forcing the work. Horses don’t open up through pressure; they open up through trust. By staying present and patient, I’m able to connect with them in a way that supports both their physical release and emotional comfort.
"The care and understanding they show to each horse is truly remarkable. My horse always comes away feeling relaxed and rejuvenated."
